“Being on Jeopardy was something that I’ve really wanted to do since I was a little girl.” – Caitlin Drinkard, Drinkard Sisters
One Detroit musician tried for eight years to pass the initial mandatory questionnaire taken by all Jeopardy hopefuls, finally succeeding and getting the attention of the show’s producers.
Caitlin Drinkard, one half of the harmonic alt-country duo the Drinkard Sisters, will make her Jeopardy television debut on Tuesday, February 18 on Detroit’s WDIV.
“Being on Jeopardy was pretty close to the top of my bucket list,” Drinkard says. “It was something that I’ve really wanted to do since I was a little girl.”
Some of her key takeaways:
- Jeopardy producers are very serious about rules and making the game fair, yet highly encourage a fun and relaxed atmosphere
- Alex Trebek is beloved by the staff and audience. He makes jokes to the audience between takes.
- The contestants are supportive of each other, cut-throat competition is discouraged.
