What started as a bedroom-pop project recorded on GarageBand, has led to the release of three albums, multiple tours and rave critic reviews. Drenched in California-rays, Best Coast burst out of L.A. with Bethany Cosentino handling songwriting and vocals, and Bobb Bruno on everything else. Their signature lo-fi jangley garage-pop can soundtrack any teenage romance through its ups and downs. In their latest release, California Nights, the band looks towards the twilight of youthful naivety, and ensconce themselves as mainstay in the modern tapestry of music. Bethany speaks with WDET’s Travis Wright. Best Coast will be playing the Majestic Theatre on Friday.
