47th Annual Ford Fireworks in Detroit Bigger and Brighter
Detroit’s fireworks show on Monday is one minute longer than in past years.
More than 10,000 fireworks are set to be launched tonight for the 47th annual Ford Fireworks. The lights and music for the event are themed “Colors of Love.” Parade Company CEO Tony Michaels says the show is a minute longer than usual.
“New colors, new fireworks, designs… and I think that people are going to really enjoy the music and how we have really choreographed this from the big moments to the slower moments, and an ending that you’re gonna think is there, but it’s really not there.”

Michaels says during the fireworks Detroit Police officers will enforce an 8 p.m. curfew for unaccompanied minors downtown. He says the show begins a few minutes after 10 p.m.
