Ford Foundation President Darren Walker talks about emboldening commitments in Detroit
The Ford Foundation was established 79 years ago by Edsel and Henry Ford. It started in the Motor City with 25-thousand dollars, but today it operates out of Manhattan with more than 10-billion dollars in assets.
The Ford Foundation recently played a role in the so-called “Grand Bargain” that took Detroit out of bankruptcy and now the organization is holdings meetings in Detroit this week for the first time since 1946.
President Darren Walker spoke with WDET’s Travis Wright about the ford Foundation’s renewed commitment in Detroit.
