The Detroit Symphony Orchestra debuts three collaborative musicians at October’s Mix at the Max
Viola, piano, and vocals combine for a new listening experience
Among the many partnerships that WDET has with cultural institutions around town is the Mix at the Max series. That’s the Detroit Symphony’s weeknight event that is designed to stretch the boundaries of classical music in live performances. Artists come from all over the country for intimate performances at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center.
Joining host Stephen Henderson to discuss tonight’s event are violist Nadia Sirota, pianist Nico Muhly, and vocalist Shara Worden. They will perform the fourth movement of Muhly’s original composition, “Drones and Viola”.
