DNR removes trees with Oak Wilt Disease
The eastern end of Belle Isle will be closed for a couple of days this week as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources removes trees infected with Oak Wilt Disease.
The state is planning to remove the trees using helicopters rather than trucks.
Grants awarded to the Belle Isle Conservancy are covering the cost of the project.
