Feed the Bees for Earth’s Sake
90% of plants on earth need pollination provided by bees, butterflies and other insects

April 22nd is Earth Day.
Organizers say they hope to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.
Many conservation organizations use the day for education campaigns. One of those is the Xerces Society, which has a new book called “A Hundred Plants to Feed the Bees”.
Michigan is home to the Rusty Patched Bumblebee, the first bee species in the U-S to be listed as endangered.
Matthew Shepard is spokesperson for the Xerces Society. He tells WDET’s Amy there are several simple things everyone can do to help bees and other pollinators.
